If the subject is available David's usual process is that he will travel to the sitter, set up a location with lighting and props and have the subject sit for him live during their painting. His medium is oil paint on stretched canvas.
The time spent doing this differs according to the sitter’s availability and comfort, being sensitive to the time restraints of the sitter David is flexible with each commission.
Because of this in many cases David will end up take photographs and working on the painting from the photographs after the sitting session. David will bring lighting equipment and whatever props are necessary.
David paints from photographs if the sitter is not available or accessible.
