David Ledger is a West Australian artist specialising in oil painting. He is currently an artist in residence at Fremantle Arts Centre and has recently completed a residency at Herhúsið in Siglufjörður, Iceland. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at Curtin University and studied classical drawing and painting at the Florence Classical Art Academy in Italy. He has exhibited in Australia and internationally, including solo exhibitions in Perth, Iceland, and Hong Kong.

His work draws on traditional techniques and is often developed slowly from memory. A recurring focus is the relationship between place and experience, where material and metaphysical aspects of landscape intersect. Through painting, Ledger explores ideas of belonging, cultural narrative, and environmental change.
